in attendance: BL, DX, IS, WL, DJ, KK, KC, SB (by phone)
The date of the race has once again been reconfirmed as AUGUST 5 (FIVE or FIFTH) 2005, or 855 for short.
T-shirts were discussed. WL has to talk to his people about doing it at their shop in a confirmatory way, not just a "yeah, they said..." way.. Midnight Press has had a carrot dangled in front of them and is eager, but the screenprint crew is a little wary of nightmares.just below the surface. DX produced a 2-hour fresh color xerox (yay SPL! Finally!) for a possible back print. People bitched about not getting crowns on their shirts, when no one did. People told DX how to do the shirts. WL told DX that DX was at the start last year. WL grudgingly accepted that he was full of shit, after IS backed DX's version of events, but not without calling DX a drunk.. The shirt discussion finally ended when DX and WL left the table and everybody else realized they didn't have anything to say about shirts other than bitching.
End - Big Building was being met with by CQ at the meeting time, rumored to be 95% confirmed. Eagles Aerie #1 (Georgetown) was deemed too nice a place for an endpoint, being as they've got a lot of stuff to break and/or ruin (carpet, dancefloor, stage, all those pens, etc.) and probably wouldn't be too keen on fire, explosives, and questionable activities.
Start - West Seattle was talked about. As if everybody didn't realize it, DJ talked about the yearly Beacon-W.Seattle flip-flop (which wasn't adhered to last year).. Queen Anne was thought about, and decided to be too far.(for the same reasons as last year). DJ rattled off a couple of W. Seattle bar names, WL chimed in with a few, hoping the West Seattlelites drum up some leads.
Music - DS is moving to Austin real soon and hopes to be back in time for the race, but won't be around for the music planning this year. DJ feels up to the job. Band names that came up were the Fuckin' Chachis, Gutbomb, Heartbreak USA, and KLED. There was some useless shit-talking about past performers. Logistics of band/event placement and timing were piddled out, and the word "coordination" was used.
Beer - people getting bigger notice on the
shirt? Printing a "sponsor" logo? Fat

Dead Baby. Should there be more taps and less waiting? Will we drink
the beer too fast? BL on it... Water bottles? Quantity?
Size? etc? Printing bottles thought about, vetoed by DX as pain in
the ass and expensive Spray-paint stencil ideas voiced to rolling eyes and
deaf ears. KC expresses interest in doing bottle sticker art.
Piņata - KK reported VE is on it and psyched, as last year. He would also like to do a little outdoor lighting and asks for $40 to do it..
Security - SB's name came up, more than once, with nobody knowing what was up with her and security, as she's does a fine job each year with the detail. This conversation happened a few times over the course of the meeting, even with the hahaha "who's gonna call her?" bullshit, the finger on nose thing..., until DX, fed up, demanded a phone and fuckin' called her already. A stopping-screening and surprised SB (she had not known about the meeting) claimed "I'm all over it!" and asked "How many?" to which the meeting replied "5 or 6" and she said "Cool, that's all I need to know."
Food - DJ seems to really like the taco truck, citing no cleanup as his biggest reason, and told tales of bad mayonnaise and other condiment episodes in the past. JA and TO were mentioned as known BBQers. RA was mentioned. DJ said "two 6-foot grills" at least. TO was badmouthed. WL made big talk about selling food. There was talk of food tickets, CS was badmouthed. Mmmm, pizza. Buckets of chili and cornbread suggestion was shat upon.. $400 for food last year? Where's the tape from last year? A buck for a burger?...which led us into...
Ducats - much talk about raising prices. $25? t-shirt $15 - party $10 ? mild concern over "race or party?" the Tattoo dilemma discussed, again, at length. And somebody needs to spring the $25 or whatever for the Banquet Permit.. pre-register online with Paypal, for a discount?
Raffle - 2 bikes, 2 tattoos, Ortlieb bags?, MizzD glass? anyone else?
